Organic and biodynamicLa Petite Lantern is a sparkling wine of great fragrance and freshness that is made by the Ancestral Method from a blend of Chardonnay, Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc and Muscat grapes. The sip is agile, cheerful and drinkable, with great aromaticity and pleasant residual sugar, with aromas of small white fruit, candied citrus, tropical fruit and hints of yeast. A refermented wine with invigorating and regenerating power!
The Pet-Nat ‘La Petite Lanterne’ is a bottle-fermented Alsatian wine with a lively, aromatic, and informal spirit, the result of the collaboration between Vanessa Letort of Du Vin aux Liens and Domaine Albert Hertz. Albert and Frédéric Hertz's winery is one of the leading biodynamic wineries in Alsace, whose motto is “wine is made in the vineyard, not in the cellar,” emphasizing the terroir first and the grape variety second.
Du Vin aux Liens Pet-Nat ‘La Petite Lanterne’ consists of a blend of white grape varieties Chardonnay, Sylvaner, Pinot Blanc, and Muscat Blanc à Petit Grains. The vines, which have an average age of 25 years, grow on limestone and clay soils, where they are cultivated according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The grapes from the different varieties are harvested and pressed together, with the must obtained fermenting spontaneously in stainless steel tanks. After a year of aging on the fine lees in the same type of wine containers, the wine is bottled with 12 g/l of residual sugar, allowing for a slight re-fermentation in the bottle according to the Ancestral Method. Throughout the entire process, there is no use of clarification or filtration processes, nor any addition of sulfites.
The Pet-Nat Du Vin aux Liens ‘La Petite Lanterne’ has a hazy straw-yellow color with fine and soft foam. On the nose, one can sense citrus, white flowers, and yellow-fleshed tropical fruit, combined with pleasant notes of pastry and yeast. The taste is invigorating, fresh, and easy-drinking, with pleasant sweetness, great aromaticity, and cheerful effervescence. For these organoleptic attributes, ‘La Petite Lanterne’ represents the ideal choice for convivial aperitifs with friends and companions.
