Petite Arvine 'Vigne Rovettaz' Grosjean 2025
Unusual grapes
Organic and biodynamicThe Petite Arvine by Grosjean is a white wine that expresses all the mountain freshness of the Aosta Valley. It is aged in barrique and steel, presenting a complex profile with good structure, rich and with a fresh and clean body, woven with an aromatic range of green apple, alpine herbs, citrus, and spicy hints.
The Petite Arvine “Vigne Rovettaz” is the flagship white wine of the Aosta Valley winery Grosjean. It is an intense and rich version of this interesting grape variety originating from the Valais region of Switzerland, which has found in Aosta Valley the conditions to produce wines of great personality and character. The very cool and breezy climate, the poor soils, and the strong temperature fluctuations provide grapes of great balance, with very rich aromas and fragrances. It is a delicate and elegant white, fresh and harmonious, that encapsulates the best characteristics of the alpine territory. It is perfect for pairing with appetizers, seafood first courses, or dishes based on delicately flavored fish.
The white Petite Arvine “Vigne Rovettaz” Grosjean is made from grapes that come exclusively from the Vigna Rovettaz, a 1.8-hectare plot located in the municipality of Quart at an altitude of 550 meters above sea level. The vines are cultivated at high density on a steep slope beautifully exposed to the south and southwest, on sandy soils of morainic origin that are shallow and characterized by a rich presence of skeleton. The vines are managed according to the regulations of certified organic farming, with treatments carried out only with sulfur and copper. At the end of the harvest, the best bunches are softly pressed, and the free-run must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine rests for 8 months sur lies, with 70% in steel tanks and 30% in French oak barriques with periodic bâtonnage and completes the aging with a few months in the bottle.
The wine Petite Arvine “Vigne Rovettaz” from the Grosjean winery offers the pleasure of tasting a particularly rich and intense version of this ancient alpine grape variety, with pleasantly fruity and harmonious aromatic characteristics. In the glass, it presents a beautiful light straw yellow color with bright and shiny reflections. The bouquet is characterized by aromas of white flowers and wildflowers, scents of lime zest, grapefruit, aromas of white-fleshed fruit, soft nuances of tropical fruit and hints of medicinal herbs. The sip is balanced, with a fruit fragrant and rich, well balanced by a clear savory vein and a finish characterized by lively freshness. Excellent to drink young and a white with a potential for aging of at least 4 or 5 years.
