Pinot Grigio Franz Haas 2024
The Pinot Grigio from the Franz Haas winery is a white wine with an excellent quality-price ratio perfect for pairing with grilled fish or vegetable-based dishes. It is made with carefully selected grapes of the same name and aged for 4 months exclusively in steel tanks and in small quantities in barriques. The intense straw yellow color introduces floral notes and a refreshing sip.
The Pinot Grigio produced by the South Tyrolean winery of Franz Haas is a fresh and harmonious white wine that faithfully reflects the typical profile of this famous French grape variety. Thanks to its success in major international markets, particularly in the United States, Pinot Grigio is experiencing a moment of great popularity among enthusiasts worldwide. It captivates the palate with its particularly rich and sweet aromas, for a sip broad, soft, and with good taste complexity, making it easy and pleasantly satisfying. In Alto Adige, its varietal characteristics are made even more elegant thanks to the typical mineral freshness derived from the alpine terroir.
The Pinot Grigio wine is the fruit of the experience of a historic winery in the area, which has been producing wine for seven generations. Franz Haas has been one of the architects of the revival of South Tyrolean wine and has distinguished himself for high-quality production. The estate extends over about 55 hectares, with high-quality plots located in various areas of the Bassa Atesina. The Pinot Grigio grapes come from vineyards cultivated in a hilly area with an altitude ranging from 350 to 800 meters above sea level, with a south and southwest exposure. The soils are very suited, with the presence of clay and silt, generated by the disintegration of rocks present in the area. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, except for a small quantity that ferments directly in barrique. The wine ages for four months on the lees, partly in steel and partly in wood.
