Pinot Nero Riserva 'Maglen' Tramin 2023
The Pinot Noir Reserve "Maglen" is a full-bodied, elegant, and complex red wine, aged for 14 months in barrique and endowed with evolutionary potential. Subtle aromas of dried flowers, fruit, cinchona, and spices animate a warm and structured tasting, balanced and enveloping.
The Pinot Nero Riserva “Maglen” from the Tramin winery is a red wine of elegance and expressive strength. It has complexity and expressiveness, now part of the Alto Adige winemaking tradition for years. The Pinot Nero strongly recalls the fine and composed profile of this land, which underlies a great precision. Its Riserva version enhances and elevates the fascinating component given by aging, capable of highlighting the balance and the tasting fabric, but also a very interesting olfactory texture. In the area of Termeno, where the Tramin winery is located, the grapes come from 290 affiliated growers and give life to wines of refined Alto Adige class.
“Maglen” is made from 100% Pinot Nero grapes. They come from vineyards located at an altitude between 400 and 600 meters above sea level, characterized by a clayey-sandy soil. The vines are oriented towards a West and South-West exposure, and have ages ranging from 15 to 25 years. In this area, the climate is characterized by strong temperature excursions due to warm days, a consequence of the Mediterranean imprint, and cold nights with very fresh winds coming from the mountains. The harvest is done manually using small crates during the first half of October. Fermentation is managed at controlled temperature, inside large oak vats. The aging phase consists of 11 months of maturation in barrique and a few weeks in large barrels. Another 6 months of resting in the bottle make the Riserva “Maglen” ready for marketing.
The Tramin Pinot Nero Riserva “Maglen” presents a ruby red color with garnet hues. The bouquet reveals notes of berries and cherry, earth and spices. The sip is very fruity and delicate, defined by elegance and balance. Despite its gentle soul, this red persists in the mouth for a long time, after enchanting the palate with a noble and velvety tannin.
