The Pinot Noir Reserve "Mazon" by Hofstatter originates in one of the most vocated terroirs of South Tyrol. It is a full-bodied, deep, and elegant wine, aged in barrique for 12 months and in large barrels for 6. Typical scents of underbrush and small fruits emerge from a soft and velvety texture.

The Pinot Noir Reserve "Mazon" by Hofstatter is born in one of the most vocated terroirs in South Tyrol for the cultivation and production of Pinot Noir, so much so that it has been nicknamed the Côte d’Or of Italy. It is the Mazon plateau, or Mazzon, characterized by a soil rich in clay, limestone, and porphyry, mitigated by breezes from Lake Garda, beautifully exposed to the sun, with strong temperature variations between summer and winter and between day and night.

The Pinot Noir Reserve "Mazon" comes from the vineyards of the Hofstatter winery located in this terroir. The grapes harvested here are destemmed for 75%, while the remaining 25% of the bunches are poured intact into the fermentation barrels. This measure allows for an excellent balance between elegance, refinement, and structure. The must ferments for about 10 days in contact with the skins, after which it undergoes two racking processes. The long aging takes place first in small barrels for 12 months, then, after blending, in large oak barrels for 6 months and then for a year in bottle.

oak for 6 months and then for a year in bottle.

The Pinot Noir Reserve "Mazon" by Hofstatter presents itself in the glass with a ruby mantle tending towards garnet dense and deep. The bouquet is rich in typical scents of underbrush, small wild red fruits, sour cherries, and sweet spices. The entry on the palate is soft and enveloping and the taste is balanced, elegant, solid, and consistent. It is a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir from South Tyrol, full-bodied and deep, with great finesse.
