The Pinot Noir Reserve "Poggio della Buttinera" is a version of the famous Burgundy grape made by Tenuta Travaglino with the intent of enhancing the best characteristics of elegance, finesse, and longevity. It is, in fact, a red wine of good structure, which, thanks to aging in wood, offers a good expressive complexity, where the floral and fruity aromas typical of the variety blend with refined tertiary evolution notes. A red for experienced palates, in search of the best expressions of Pinot Noir from Oltrepò Pavese. Due to its characteristics, it pairs very well with first courses with meat ragù, with roasted white meats, or with roasted or spit-roasted poultry.
“Poggio della Buttinera” is the Pinot Noir Reserve of Tenuta Travaglino, a historic name in the wine of Oltrepò Pavese, always committed to highlighting the qualities of the territory. The estate is managed by the fifth generation of the Comi family and spans an area of 80 hectares. As per tradition,local tradition, the winery has focused on enhancing Pinot Noir and Riesling, without forgetting the native red grape variety Croatina. The wine is made exclusively from grapes sourced from the Poggio della Buttinera vineyard, considered a true estate cru, due to the consistency with which it produces superior quality grapes every year. The parcel is located at an altitude of 230 meters above sea level, with a southeast exposure. The soils are clay-limestone in nature, with the presence of sands and pebbles, well-draining and particularly suitable for a very demanding grape variety like Pinot Noir. The grapes are partially destemmed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 22-24 °C, with a skin maceration lasting several weeks. The wine ages for a year in tonneau and French oak barriques and refines for a year in the bottle before being marketed.

On the palate, it showcases a fine and mature tannic texture, enveloping a harmonious and rich sip, complex and long, culminating in a fresh and very persistent finish.
