Pinot Nero Vinificato in Bianco 'I Germogli' Monsupello 2024

“I Germogli” by Monsupello is a typically territorial wine. It is, in fact, a Pinot Nero vinified in white, with the addition of a small percentage of Chardonnay and offered in a slightly sparkling version. A very particular interpretation of the Burgundy grape, present almost exclusively in the Oltrepò. The aromas are characterized by floral notes and fresh fruit aromas, the sip is harmonious and lively, pleasantly soft and refreshing.

The wine “I Germogli” is produced with Pinot Nero vinified in white and a small percentage of Chardonnay, grown in the first hilly area of Oltrepò Pavese at an altitude of about 150 meters above sea level. The vineyards are located in the municipalities of Oliva Gessi and Torricella Verzate, with exposures ranging from southeast to southwest and are trained in Guyot. The soils are made up of calcareous-clay marl of particular value for viticulture. The harvest usually takes place towards the end of August. The vinification in white is carried out, with soft pressing of the grapes to extract only the free-run must without the color of the skins. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 18 °C. The second fermentation takes place in autoclave with the addition of must and yeasts to the base wine, which contribute to giving the right slightly sparkling liveliness.

The Pinot Nero vinified in White “I Germogli” by Monsupello, with its lively vivacity, offers immediate drinking pleasure, particularly appreciated at aperitif time or to accompany an informal snack, perhaps with local cold cuts and cheeses. In the glass, it presents a pale straw yellow color with brilliant greenish reflections. On the nose, it expresses fresh floral aromas and fragrant fruity notes. On the palate, it is pleasantly lively, very harmonious and soft, with delicate fruit and a beautifully fresh finish.
