The Primitivo from the Apulian winery Notte Rossa is a fruity and fragrant version of this characteristic red grape variety from Salento. It is a label that offers a young, immediate and joyful interpretation. The choice to vinify exclusively in steel allows the typical varietal notes of the grape to be appreciated, enhancing above all the richness of the ripe grapes. Soft and intense, this red wine wins you over with its pleasant, simple and easy drinkability and its extraordinary ability to pair well with the tasty dishes of Apulian cuisine.
Primitivo is the wine that symbolises the Salento region, and this atypical version, characterised by its simplicity and freshness, is produced by Notte Rossa from organically farmed vineyards, using only sulphur and copper in treatments to combat downy mildew and powdery mildew. The vines are planted as saplings on the characteristic red soil of the Salento area, consisting mainly of sand, clay and limestone. The hot, dry Mediterranean climate is mitigated by sea breezes, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly. This region is particularly suited to the cultivation of red grapes, which, thanks to the long sunny days and suitable soil, ripen perfectly, with rich and intense aromatic profiles.
Primitivo Notte Rossa is a red wine from Puglia that perfectly expresses the great tradition of the Salento region in producing pleasantly fruity wines. At the end of the harvest, the bunches are destemmed and the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25 °C, with a short maceration on the skins. It rests for several months in steel tanks before being bottled. In the glass, it is ruby red in colour with purple reflections. The bouquet is characterised by fresh aromas of ripe fruit, cherries, black cherries, red plums and delicate hints of spice. The palate is exuberant and fruity, with a juicy character and light tannins. The finish is harmonious, with a return to pleasant fruity notes.
