PRIMITIVO DI MANDURIA 'TALÒ' SAN MARZANO 2022 DESCRIPTION

The "Talò" Primitivo di Manduria from Cantine San Marzano is a soft and intense red wine that perfectly expresses the rich Mediterranean character of the land of Puglia. This ancient red grape variety, originally from Dalmatia, has found its ideal terroir for centuries in the area of Manduria, where it expresses a particularly suave and Mediterranean character. The brief aging in wood allows the wine to soften its tannins, while preserving its typical richness and fruity fragrance. Its enveloping sip seduces with aromas of ripe cherry, plum, and sweet spices.

The "Talò" Primitivo di Manduria is a wine that represents the style of one of the most important producers in Puglia. Cantine San Marzano can count on a selection of grapes from a wide range of vineyards cultivated in the heart of Salento, on clay-rich soils. The hot and dry climate, always well-ventilated due to the nearby presence of the sea, guarantees excellent ripening of the grapes with very dense aromatic profiles and high sugar levels. Primitivo is the wine that best represents the happy marriage between the grape and the territory. The choice of a very measured aging in wood always leaves the suave aromas of the grapes in the foreground.

The Primitivo di Manduria "Talò" wine from Cantine San Marzano is a young and fragrant red, ideal to be tasted with meat ragù pasta dishes or a mixed grill. It is a version that is highly enjoyable and easy to drink. The vinification process is carried out as a red wine, with a maceration period on the skins of about 10 days. It then matures in French and American oak barriques for about 6 months. In the glass, it has a ruby red color with slight violet reflections. On the nose, it expresses aromas of cherry, ripe black cherry, red plum, hints of bitter cocoa, vanilla, and soft oriental spices. On the palate, it has a good structure, is rich and ample, with a subtle tannic texture and a warm, generous, and very persistent sip. It is the version of Primitivo that allows you to discover the true face of Salento wines.
