Ramitello Di Majo Norante 2021
The Ramitello is a red wine from Molise of medium body, soft and warm, made from Montepulciano and Aglianico grapes vinified in wood and steel. The aromatic profile is full and juicy, with aromas of ripe red fruit and spicy and balsamic nuances. On the palate, it is warm, enveloping, and has well-defined tannins.
The Ramitello is a daily red wine that stands out for its ability to combine with finesse and elegance the best characteristics of two of the most significant red grape varieties from central-southern Italy, such as Montepulciano and Aglianico. Dedication and passion are the watchwords for the Di Majo Norante family, winemakers since the 1800s, who have always focused on the constant qualitative improvement of their products, becoming a reference point for Molise viticulture.
The Ramitello wine comes from the selection of the best grapes, sourced from the homonymous cru located in Campomarino. The vines are of recent planting and are cultivated at an altitude of about 100 meters on clay soil, following many principles of organic farming. After a maceration period in contact with the skins lasting about a month, it matures partly in steel to preserve the freshness and integrity of the fruit and partly in barrique to enrich it with toasted and spicy nuances.
The Ramitello by Di Majo Norante presents itself in the glass with a ruby red color impenetrable, typical of the grape varieties that compose it. Dark, multifaceted nose that evokes descriptors such as plum, licorice, and underbrush. The sip is filling and smooth, caressing the palate thanks to a perfectly polished and silky tannin. It pairs satisfactorily with everyday meals, ranging from red and white meats to aged cheeses, establishing itself as a wine worth stocking up on due to its quality/price ratio.
