The Riesling from the Trentino winery La Vis is the classic mountain wine, fragrant, fresh, and mineral, made from the pure vinification of one of the most important white grape varieties: Riesling. Originally from Central Europe, in the Moselle region, Riesling produces some of the best whites in the world and has found a particularly suitable territory for its pedoclimatic needs in the Cembra Valley. This results in a young and immediate version of Riesling, a true expression of the Trentino region.
The Riesling wine is produced by the historic La Vis winery, located a few kilometers north of Trento, at the entrance to the green Cembra Valley. It is an establishment that manages about 800 hectares of vineyards owned by as many members, owners of small plots, situated in a very interesting area characterized by soils of calcareous-dolomitic matrix or porphyritic nature. Thanks to a careful zoning process, the La Vis winery cultivates each grape variety in the most suitable place, considering altitude, soil composition, and microclimate, to always achieve the highest quality.the highest quality. Riesling is mainly cultivated in the lower Cembra Valley, at an altitude of about 500-600 meters, on south-facing terraces characterized by sandy soils from the disintegration of porphyry rocks with fluvio-glacial sediments. The strong temperature variations allow for the harvesting of grapes with very intense aromas, yet always characterized by great freshness. After manual harvesting, a gentle pressing and fermentation of the must in temperature-controlled steel tanks take place. It then rests in cement on its own lees for 5/6 months before being bottled.
The white Riesling from La Vis is a wine of great drinking pleasure, a faithful reflection of the wonderful terroir of the Cembra Valley, one of the most renowned areas in all of Trentino. In the glass, it presents a yellow-green color with brilliant golden reflections. The aromas open with notes of white flowers, citrus aromas, fruity sensations, and hints of flint. On the palate, it has an attack of great and vital expressive energy, with a fruitdelicate, a clear savory and mineral vein, that leads to a very fresh finish.
