Riesling Mosel Kabinett 'Brauneberger Juffer' Schloss Lieser 2023

The Riesling Mosel Kabinett "Brauneberger Juffer" is produced in the municipality of Lieser, in the unmistakable Moselle Valley, home to the imposing Schloss Lieser castle from the late 1800s. Here is the fascinating winery of one of the masters of Riesling who, after many changes of ownership, managed to take possession of the aristocratic building: Tomas Haag. His experience is also the result of the incredible legacy left to him by his father, Fritz Haag. In the Kabinett typology, we have a Riesling that is not too alcoholic, soft, delicate, and of excellent drinkability but at the same time knows how to be very elegant and pleasant. The Riesling is produced from the Juffer and Juffer Sonnenhur vineyards, which take their name from, located in Lieser and facing south towards the banks of the Moselle River, on soils rich in Devonian slate with a slope of up to 80%. The grapes are typically mountain-grown and express themselves well in this valley with its particular microclimate.

a careful harvest of the grapes that are then processed in the winery and fermented in steel thanks to the activity of indigenous yeasts. To the eye, we can notice the beautiful straw yellow color. On the nose, it expresses a great minerality, due to the soil on which the grapes grow, fruity and aromatic notes of apple, apricot, yellow peach, and citrus. On the palate, it is sharp, with a good roundness, and one can perceive the lush filigree that composes its texture, in the finish it stimulates its freshness and its very light sweet note typical of these illuminating wines.
