Riesling Trentino Agricola Mos 2023
Artisanal
Exclusive wineryThe Riesling Trentino by Agricola Mos is a white wine made from Riesling Renano aged for ten months in used tonneaux. On the nose, it presents notes of apple, pear, tropical fruit, and slight hydrocarbon hints, while on the palate it is fresh, material, with good acidity. It has excellent aging potential - after resting for a few years in the cellar, it can express its simple elegance at its best
The Riesling Trentino from the Agricola Mos winery represents a faithful interpretation of the variety, characterized by typical notes of hydrocarbons that become more pronounced with further aging in the bottle. The winemaking approach adopted by Luca and Federico of Agricola Mos aims to provide authentic and never opulent expressions through non-invasive cellar practices, including a low and rational use of sulfites, enhancing the complexity and longevity of the noblest grape varieties such as Chardonnay and Riesling Renano.
Agricola Mos Riesling Trentino is made exclusively from Riesling Renano grapes from 30-year-old vines trained using the traditional simple Trentino pergola system in Lisignago, in the Cembra Valley. In particular, the plants benefit from the porphyritic nature of the soils, the altitude of 520 meters above sea level, and the excellent southwest exposure. Towards the end of September, when the grapes have developed their characteristic golden color, manual harvesting takes place, followed by the classic white winemaking of the grapes.with direct soft pressing. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak tonneau, as does the maturation of 10 months accompanied by weekly batonnage aimed at keeping the fine lees in suspension, increasing the complexity of the wine. After at least another 3 months of aging in the bottle, the wine is finally ready for market release.
Intense straw yellow with emerald hues is the color of the Riesling Trentino by Agricola Mos. The olfactory range evokes hints of yellow apple, pear, plum, citrus, and white flowers, which meet smoky and hydrocarbon notes on the finish. The sip is balanced between enveloping softness and pronounced freshness, with a harmonious mineral closure completing the tasting context.
