Rosato 'Calafuria' Magnum Tormaresca-Antinori 2024 (confezione)
Calafuria is a fresh and floral rosé wine from Puglia based on Negroamaro, with pleasant and characteristic scents and aromas. On the nose, this Puglian Magnum recalls fruit, flowers, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is soft, fresh, and very pleasant, elegant and balanced.
The Rosato “Calafuria”, produced in the Tormaresca estate of the Antinori family, is a perfect expression of the great tradition of Apulian rosés. The region has always been suited for this refined type of wine, thanks to the presence of the indigenous grape variety Negroamaro, particularly suitable for this vinification. The name derives from that of a bay along the Adriatic coast of Salento and symbolizes not only the area of origin of the wine but also its maritime vocation, which is expressed with a fresh, savory, and Mediterranean profile, making it ideal for pairing with seafood appetizers, particularly with scampi or shrimp.
“Calafuria” is a Rosato born from Antinori's desire to expand the horizon of its properties beyond the lands of Tuscany. The Apulian estate Tormaresca includes two farms, Bocca di Lupo in the area of Castel del Monte and Masseria Maime in Alto Salento. Masseria Maime covers an area of 500 hectares, of which about 350 are dedicated to viticulture. The vineyards are located among olive groves, pine forests, and large areas of Mediterranean scrub. The lands, which rest on a rocky substrate of limestone nature and the mild and very windy climate, have always been ideal for grape cultivation. The wine comes from Negroamaro vineyards cultivated in proximity to the Adriatic coast, in the first coastal hinterland. At the end of the harvest, the best bunches are hand-selected, and after destemming, soft pressing is carried out with a very brief contact with the skins. After static decantation, the must is vinified in white in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 °C with selected yeasts. The wine matures for several months in steel tanks and completes its aging with 4 months in bottle before commercialization.
Rosato “Calafuria” from the Tormaresca estate of Antinori is a harmonious and refined wine, which highlights the best qualities of Negroamaro, combined with a typically territorial connotation, expressed in the marine breath that envelops the fruity aromas. Visually, it presents a beautiful pale pink color with luminous reflections.luminous. The olfactory profile is fine and elegant, with fragrances of citrus, pink grapefruit, aromas of red currant, raspberry, pomegranate, delicate floral nuances, hints of aromatic herbs typical of the Mediterranean scrub, and iodized sensations. The entry on the palate is soft, thanks to a ripe and satisfying fruit, which finds a perfect taste balance in a fresh and pleasantly savory finish. A large format, perfect for brightening your summer evenings.
