Rosso 448 slm Girlan 2024

This wine Rosso 448 slm sets an important goal, namely to express the potential of red wines within the production area of Cornaiano, where the Girlan winery is located. An ambitious achievement, which is also reached thanks to the peculiarities of the three grape varieties that make up the blend: the lightness of Schiava indeed combines with the fruity aromas typical of Pinot Nero, while Lagrein contributes to a full and satisfying structure. A pleasant red, ideal for all seasons, which finds its gastronomic consecration especially with red meat main courses.

This Rosso 448 slm is born from the happy union of three grape varieties carefully selected by Girlan, which represent all the potential of the native red grapes of Alto Adige, Lagrein and Schiava, combined with a renowned international grape variety, Pinot Nero. These three varieties are cultivated by the winery on the hills of Cornaiano, at an altitude of 448 meters above sea level, and it is precisely from this altitude that the name of the label originates. The grapes, once picked, are destemmed, and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, also undergoing malolactic fermentation. The aging process then takes place in concrete tanks for a few months, after which the wine is ready to be bottled. 

The wine Rosso 448 slm produced by Girlan presents itself visually with a typical ruby red color, decidedly compact and not very transparent. The range of aromas that develops on the nose tells of mainly fruity notes, which are enriched at the finish with various spicy touches. On the palate, it is light-bodied, soft, with a sip characterized by a pleasant freshness and a nice smoothness, reflecting the flavors already perceived on the nose. A bottle that impresses with its extreme versatility in the kitchen, and that also surprises for its excellent quality-price ratio.
