Rosso 'Auxo' Lunae Bosoni 2023
The "Auxo" Red from Lunae Bosoni is a daily and satisfying red wine, coming from the province of La Spezia and made from Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo grapes. It ages for 6 months in large oak barrels and expresses a warm and enveloping sensory profile, with good structure and tannins, featuring pronounced aromas of berries, plums, mulberries, framed by spicy notes of pepper and licorice.
The Rosso "Auxo" by Lunae Bosoni is a fresh and fruity red, that expresses itself with pleasant fragrance and immediacy. It is produced with three red grape varieties: Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, and Canaiolo. It is the classic border wine, with a character that is typically territorial. The vineyards are located in the Magra area, on the border between the Eastern Ligurian Riviera and Tuscany. The Colli di Luni area synthesizes the character of the two regions: the classic red grape varieties of Tuscany, cultivated in a Mediterranean context, influenced by a very sunny climate and the presence of sea breezes. Thus, a red with a unique personality is born, smooth, agile, and savory: an authentic expression of the terroir.
"Auxo" is a Red that well represents the face of a territory traditionally suited to whites, but which is already beginning to feel the influence of nearby Tuscany. Lunae Bosoni is one of the most important realities of Liguria and besides producing some of the best Vermentino labels of our peninsula, it also loves to propose some reds that are part of the traditions and history of the Luni territory. The vineyards of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Ciliegiolo are cultivated in the municipalities of Castelnuovo di Magra, Ortonovo, and Sarzana, on medium-textured soils rich in pebbles and skeleton. The typically Mediterranean climate allows for the harvesting of healthy and ripe grapes. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, with maceration on the skins for about ten days. Before bottling, the wine matures for 6 months in oak barrels.
The wine "Auxo" has a marine face, child of the sun and wind of the lands of Luni. The area boasts ancient origins and the vine was most likely already present at the time of the first Etruscan settlements, later developing with the subsequent Roman colonization and the creation of an important commercial port. The label proposes a version of red typical of Tuscany, made on the Ligurian border. Thus, a wine of bright ruby red color is born, expressing aromas of cherry, small dark berry fruits, aromatic herbs, and licorice root, accompanied by slight spicy nuances.spicy. On the palate, it reveals a good structure, with delicate tannins, still crunchy fruit, and a fresh and savory finish. A coastal Sangiovese waiting to be discovered.
