The Rosso di Montalcino from the Baricci winery is an expressive and territorial wine, aged for 8 months in large barrels. It is animated by elegant aromas of cherry, spices, and licorice. The taste is dry, harmonious, and juicy, with structure and good persistence.

The Rosso di Montalcino by Baricci originates in a historic winery that cultivates a property in the renowned area of Montosoli, always known as one of the best in the Montalcino area. The particularly cool climate, always very breezy, and the soils made up of stony marls, rich in galestro, quartz, and schist, are ideal for the cultivation of Sangiovese, which has found its ideal habitat here for centuries. The Podere Colombaio di Montosoli is a small family-run estate that produces wines with a traditional profile and artisanal character, authentically expressing the essence of the territory.

The Rosso di Montalcino is produced by one of the most interesting realities in the northern area of Montalcino. Baricci has been cultivating vines since 1955 and still represents a reference point for the wines of the area. The grapes come from different vineyards of the estate, all located on the Montosoli hill, at an altitude of 280 meters above sea level, with a sunny exposure facing south-southeast, which promotes full ripening of the grapes, also thanks to the presence of good thermal excursions between daytime and nighttime temperatures. The vineyards are managed with care and attention, without the use of herbicides and with manual labor. At the end of the harvest, the best bunches are sent for fermentation with traditional skin maceration. Before bottling, the wine matures for at least 8 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and rests in the cellar for a few months before being put on sale.

The Rosso di Montalcino from the Baricci winery perfectly expresses the personality of a young and fragrant Sangiovese, aiming to enhance the fruity character of high-quality grapes. Its characteristics of smooth immediacy make it an excellent dining companion for pairing with first courses with meat or game sauces, roasted white meats, or a platter of flavorful Tuscan cured meats. Visually, it presents a ruby color with bright reflections. The exuberant fruit offers aromas of cherry, marasca, small red berry fruits, light hints of violet, and slight spicy notes. Medium-bodied, it has a texture tannic, finely integrated with ripe and juicy fruit, which pleasantly accompanies the sip towards a refreshing finish with good taste persistence.
