The Rosso di Montalcino Tenuta Crocedimezzo is a rich and fragrant red wine, made from pure Sangiovese Grosso and aged for 10 months in oak barrels. On the nose, it expresses notes of berries, cherry jam, and slight hints of vanilla and tobacco due to the wood aging, while on the palate it is fresh, fragrant, juicy, and has a long and persistent finish. The Rosso di Montalcino from the wine estate Tenuta Crocedimezzo is an expression of Sangiovese Grosso that presents the fresher and more accessible face of the Montalcino territory. The winery was led until recently by the Nannetti-Vannoni family, initially represented by the couple Paolo Nannetti and Fiorella Vannoni and then by their children Roberto and Barbara, always driven by the desire to produce high-quality wines at reasonable prices, paying great attention throughout the entire production process, from the vineyard to the final bottle. Thanks to this vision, the wines of Tenuta Crocedimezzo have received numerous awards and recognitions over time from the most important international magazines in the sector. Since 2022, the brothers Enrico and Marco Faccenda, already owners of the Piedmontese estate Cascina Chicco, have been wisely leading the winery.
Tenuta Crocedimezzo Rosso di Montalcino is produced exclusively with Sangiovese Grosso grapes grown on the eastern slope of Montalcino at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level. The harvest manual is accompanied by a careful selection of the bunches, which are then vinified in red through 21 days of alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature. Once the fermentation process is completed, the mass is transferred to oak barrels of different types and capacities for aging of 9-10 months, which precedes further resting in the bottle and the final commercialization.
The Rosso di Montalcino from Tenuta Crocedimezzo has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, pleasant and fragrant hints of red berry fruits, cherry jam, balsamic herbs, vanilla, and tobacco emerge. On the palate, it is fresh yet structured, with well-integrated tannins that accompany the savory component in a finish of good persistence on the fruity sensations perceived on the nose.
