Rosso di Montalcino by Cerbaiona is a "little" Brunello, made from 100% Sangiovese and aged for several months in wooden barrels. Full-bodied and intense, it gives us a velvety and enveloping sip, with elegant notes of herbs alternating with hints of plum and balsamic nuances

The Rosso di Montalcino from Cerbaiona stands at the top of its denomination, distinguishing itself for class and finesse. The story of Cerbaiona, a reality that extends over 33 hectares in the heart of Montalcino, is an avant-garde tale, if you will, as it began in 1977 when the potential of the area was still partly unexpressed. However, this potential did not escape Diego Molinari, who, together with his wife, decided to invest in Sangiovese Grosso vineyards and produce Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello. Needless to say, this choice proved to be successful, and the prestige of Cerbaiona has been firmly established over the years thanks to interpretations that combine spontaneity with a style dedicated to the generosity of fruit. Recently sold to American investors, it seems unlikely that the winery will change course, at least regarding the production of the liquids. Large bottles capable of telling a terroir among the greatest in Italy!

The wine Rosso di Montalcino is obtained from pure Sangiovese Grosso grapes, as required by the regulations.A miniaturized Brunello, we could define it, since the quality of the grapes, carefully selected, is the same as that which gives life to the most famous Tuscan wine, with differences that concern exclusively the aging times. After the harvest and the destemming of the bunches, the must is fermented in steel containers. The aging of the liquid takes place for 12 months in large Slavonian oak barrels.

The Rosso di Montalcino presents itself in the glass with a concentrated and intense ruby hue. Rich and extremely broad nose, where clear hints of plum jam, cloves, juniper, and aromatic herbs in maceration stand out. Fruit and spice thus, enriched by non-intrusive touches of chocolate. Muscular sip, where a well-concentrated matter takes possession of the palate, stretching out long. Seductive but never static, the liquid shows a remarkable harmony among all its components, inviting for another taste. Long persistence, suggesting pairing with important meats and cheeses, or with first courses dressed with rich sauces, perhaps based on game.based on game.
