The Sancerre "Le Chene Marchand" is a soft, fresh and mineral white wine from the Loire, born from the vines of a single locality and aged for at least 10 months in steel. It emanates typical aromas of the type including citrus, ripe fruit, aromatic herbs and flint. The sip is enveloping, rich, juicy and, above all, mineral

The Sancerre “Le Chene Marchand” from Domaine Lucien Crochet is a Sauvignon Blanc fresh and intensely aromatic, which expresses all the potential of this noble French grape variety on the limestone soils of the Loire region. Aged for a long time in steel, it retains the typical varietal profile, enriched by a good body and a particularly rich and broad taste spectrum. The bouquet ranges from citrus notes to aromas of yellow fruit, to the mineral hints of flint. Perfect balance on the palate between juicy fruit and the lively freshness of the sip.

The “Le Chene Marchand” comes from a very famous Lieu-dit in the territory of the municipality of Bué, characterized by a precious shallow and highly draining soil, rich in pebbles and with an Oxfordian limestone substrate. The vines are located at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level. The vines are trained in Guyot and the harvests are all done by hand. After soft pressing of whole clusters, fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks for a period of 30 days, followed by static decantation. The wine matures on the fine lees, always in steel, for at least 10 months before being bottled with a light filtration.

The “Le Chene Marchand” Domaine Lucien Crochet is a version of Sancerre that remarkably manages to combine richness and expressive depth, with freshness and varietal immediacy. The long aging on the lees allows the wine to acquire structure and breadth, without losing that verticality that guarantees its drinkability. In the glass, it presents a pale yellow color. On the nose, it expresses floral notes, aromatic herbs, spices, white pepper, and flint. On the palate, it has a good body and a remarkable aromatic persistence, with ripe fruit supported by a vibrant freshness!
