Vincent Grall's Sancerre ‘Silex’ is a pure Sauvignon produced on the siliceous soils of the eastern Loire. After ageing in steel only, it presents lively citrus aromas and intense mineral hints of flint. Fresh, mineral and with great character, this white wine is a perfect match for seafood risottos, fresh goat cheeses and white meats with marinated vegetables

The Sancerre 'Silex' from the French producer Vincent Grall is a white wine with an intensely mineral character, a product of the nature of the soils where the grapes grow. The same French name 'Silex' means "flint", a rock of which the vineyard from which the grapes come is particularly rich. This rocky material, composed almost entirely of silica, is a flint stone, which is why wines from soils rich in flint often have smoky mineral notes. Grall's 'Silex' is part of the 'Tradition' selection, consisting of wines made entirely in steel to enhance the peculiar characteristics of the territory.

Vincent Grall Sancerre 'Silex' is a pure Sauvignon Blanc from sustainably cultivated vines on silica-rich soils dating back to the Eocene. The vineyard, aged between 15 and 30 years, is located in the plot "Le Plateau", mentioned in 1510 as land of the Augustinian monks of Bourges. The grapes, hand-picked and carefully selected, are subjected to a gentle pressing, followed by the alcoholic fermentation of the must in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wine remains in steel to mature for several months until the final bottling.

Vincent Grall's Sancerre Blanc 'Silex' has a straw yellow color with brilliant greenish reflections. On the nose, there are hints of citrus, orange peel, elderflower, and aromatic herbs, supported by a strong mineral vein reminiscent of flint. Very fresh and taut on the palate, characterized by excellent momentum and an intense savory-mineral finish. The ideal pairing for this Sancerre is represented by seafood cuisine in general, but also by first courses based on asparagus or fresh cheeses.
