The Sauvignon 'Puntay' by Erste+Neue is a white wine from Alto Adige with a rich and intense bouquet that ranges from notes of exotic fruits and currants to a citrus finish. The sip is of great breadth and richness, with a persistent finish also derived from aging in wooden barrels for 7 months.

The Sauvignon “Puntay” is a white wine produced in Alto Adige by the Cantina Este+Neue with the aim of creating a intense, rich, and complex wine, also thanks to the use of wood for aging.   The bouquet expresses pleasant fruity aromas, with hints of exotic fruit and a lively citrus freshness, which gives a vital and energetic lift to the sip. It is a label that confirms how this extraordinary French grape variety has been well adapted and acclimatized in the lands of Alto Adige for centuries, producing wines of excellent quality.

The wine “Puntay” is a pure Sauvignon Blanc, which comes from vineyards cultivated in hilly areas on the most suitable soils of the estate, characterized by the presence of precious limestone soils. The vineyards are trained in Guyot and are managed to produce with low yields, less than 60 quintals per hectare. The cool climate and significant temperature variations between day and night allow for grapes with an elegant profile and particularly intense aromas. After a cold maceration for 12-24 hours, the traditional white winemaking process is followed by aging the wine for about 7 months in large oak barrels, before proceeding to bottling.

The Sauvignon “Puntay” Erste+Neue represents a mature and intense interpretation of Sauvignon Blanc, which primarily aims to highlight the great aromatic richness of this famous French grape variety. Thanks to the use of wood, the wine acquires an important body and structure, without losing the characteristic varietal and aromatic profile. The color is light straw yellow. On the nose, it is intense, with floral scents, aromas of ripe fruit, tropical hints, and nuances of herbal notes. The sip is of great aromatic richness, enveloping and juicy, well supported by a vibrant mineral freshness.
