The Sauvignon "Vulcaia Fumé" by Inama is a white wine made from vines over 20 years old and aged in heavily toasted barriques. On the nose, there are hints of coffee, spices, and vanilla, but notes of ripe fruit also emerge. On the palate, it is buttery, with honeyed hints and returns of spiced white chocolate.

The Sauvignon “Vulcaia Fumé” is a historic label of the winery and represents both its tradition and its desire to experiment. It was born from the wish to enhance and make known the territory of Soave through a completely new version of Sauvignon Blanc. The choice of wooden vinification gives the wine a remarkable aromatic complexity and good structure, with notes of tropical fruit, intense and rich toasted and smoky hints that recall the use of barriques and the character of the volcanic soils of its origin. Due to its strong personality, it is a wine to be enjoyed with flavorful fish dishes, white meats, or aged and blue cheeses.

“Vulcaia Fumé” is a Sauvignon that originates in one of the most interesting realities of Veneto. The grapes come from the company vineyards of Monte Foscarino, which are about 15 years old and are cultivated at an altitude of 150 meters above sea level, with a sunny exposure facing south and southwest. The ancient volcanic soil made up of basalts and the cool, breezy climate have proven particularly suitable for this French grape variety with a semi-aromatic profile. Following the harvest, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed. After decantation, the must ferments in French oak barriques with heavy toasting (30% new, 50% second passage, and 20% third passage). The wine matures in barrique for six months with periodic bâtonnage, then it is blended in steel and bottled.

“Vulcaia Fumé” is the meeting point between the terroir of Soave and French tradition, represented by one of its noblest grape varieties and the savoir-faire of wooden vinification. In appearance, it has an intense yellow color with bright golden reflections. The bouquet is particularly intense and rich, with aromas of ripe yellow fruit, citrus peel, hints of tropical fruit, floral nuances, vanilla, soft spices, smoky notes and roasting. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a creamy and enveloping sip, complex and broad, which unfolds towards a balanced and very persistent finish.
