'També' Rosato Capichera 2024
The També di Capichera is a rosé wine that is rich, soft and meaty, obtained from the two main red grape varieties of the sun-drenched lands of Sardinia. It expresses warm, bright and Mediterranean notes of berries, citrus in jam, red roses and violets. On the palate it is round, enveloping, juicy, rich, fruity and persistent
The rosé "També" from the Capichera winery is a fragrant, meaty, and aromatic wine made from Carignano and Cannonau grapes sourced from a single vineyard in the Palau area, in that part of northeastern Sardinia that overlooks the sea and sees Corsica in the distance. The vines, rooted in the granite rocks of Gallura, are planted in lean and predominantly sandy soils of limited depth. The winery, now managed by the Ragnedda family for several generations, was one of the first to realize, starting from the 1980s, the great potential of the wines from this territory, especially for aging if vinified using wood.
The "També" from Capichera is a rosé produced by vinifying the dark grapes of the two most well-known and widespread native varieties of the island in white. The grapes, harvested at their full ripeness, aim to best balance the perception of softness given by sugars and alcohol with the acidic component, which softens it and provides freshness, are transported to the winery and after a brief cold maceration on the skins, they are gently pressed using a pneumatic press. The obtained must is fermented, without the skins, in stainless steel containers at controlled temperature. Then, racking is done, followed by several months of aging in steel before bottling.
The Rosato "També" from the Capichera winery presents itself with a pale pink color with coral reflections. On the nose, intense aromas of flowers appear, including rose and violet, red fruits such as currant, and citrus. On the palate, it is round, soft with a pleasant final sapidity that recalls the sea just a few meters away. The Capichera rosato is a wine of good structure and complexity but of immediate pleasantness.
