The Bolgheri Rosato “Mareviglia” from the Tuscan winery Campo alle Comete is a rosé with good aromatic richness, fresh and elegant. Although Bolgheri has become famous worldwide for its great intense and structured reds, rosé wines have an ancient tradition in these lands and still today represent a true excellence. As is customary for the denomination, the rosé is also the result of a blend of Bordeaux grape varieties, which have found in this stretch of coast near the Tyrrhenian shoreline a true second homeland, where they express themselves very well, with harmonious fruity notes.
“Mareviglia” is a Bolgheri Rosato that originates in the Tuscan estate of a well-known Campanian wine reality: Feudi di San Gregorio. Campo alle Comete is located in the territory of Castagneto Carducci, in the first inland area of the Etruscan coast. The climate is Mediterranean, very bright and sunny, mitigated by the presence of sea breezes. The grapes come from estate-grown Grenache and Syrah, cultivated in rather heterogeneous soils, with the presence of sands, calcareous-clay and alluvial components. The best bunches selected in the vineyard during the slightly early harvest are pressed very gently with a very brief contact with the skins, performed to extract aromas and a minimum of color. The must then ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 17 °C and the wine ages for a few months, still in steel, before bottling.

A rosé with good structure, which pairs very well with tomato-based first courses, seafood stews, smoked salmon, or poultry and white meats. Visually, it presents a beautiful antique pink color with bright and brilliant reflections. Refined and fragrant, it seduces with floral scents, aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub, aromas of raspberry, pomegranate, red currant, marasca, and wild strawberries. Harmonious and intense, it has a pleasantly fruity and winey sip, with a beautiful aromatic intensity and good length and persistence. The finish is savory and has lively freshness.
