The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo by Cirelli is a daily white, clear expression of minerality and elegance. It comes from the homonymous white grape variety that has been undervalued for a long time, which when planted in its ideal areas, is capable of "reading" the terroir and expressing it in a crystalline manner. In Atri, a small province of Teramo that is part of the parcels suitable for the cultivation of the famous grape variety, Francesco Cirelli has decided to manage his vineyards in a non-invasive way, continuing in the winery with spontaneous fermentations and banning clarifications or filtrations. Today a reference point in their category, Francesco's bottles captivate with joy and straightforwardness, with increasingly convincing interpretations each year.
The Trebbiano white comes from pure grapes of the homonymous variety, cultivated in the province of Teramo. Coming from vineyards almost entirely owned, it is a wine designed as a more carefree and fresh expression compared to its older brother, which instead ages in amphora. The harvest is strictly done by hand, with a very careful selection of the bunches. After destemming and crushing, the must is fermented in steel containers, solely thanks to the intervention of indigenous yeasts, activated by a previously prepared pied de cuve. The liquid ages for 4 months in steel on the fine lees before bottling.
The Trebbiano wine has a straw yellow color, bold and youthful. The nose is extremely subtle and delicate, expressing notes of broom, hay, golden apple, and flint. Variegated in its simplicity, it suggests a crisp and tonic fruit, and the tasting only confirms the impressions received. A slender sip, driven by a prestigious balance between freshness and sapidity, and supported by a long, athletic structure. Satisfying on the everyday table, it is a white wine that prefers non-intrusive pairings, such as pasta and seafood risotto, vegetable pies, and light fish preparations.
