The Trebbiano Spoletino “Pometo” by Lungarotti is a white wine of great character, intense and complex, that represents very well the personality of this native grape variety, which in recent decades has been rediscovered and rightly valued. Although it shares the name Trebbiano with many other grapes from central Italy, it is a distinct variety, characterized by a very rich and multifaceted aromatic profile. It is a white that surprises for its harmonious balance between fruity softness and clear freshness. Excellent to taste right away, it does not fear aging for a few years in the bottle.
The “Pometo” is a Trebbiano Spoletino produced by one of the most important wineries in Umbria. Lungarotti has played a decisive role in making Umbrian wine known in Italy and around the world, thanks to a work that has always focused on quality and enhancement of the territory. The grapes of Trebbiano Spoletino come from the vineyards cultivated in the company estate of Pometo, on medium-textured, clay-limestone soils.clay-limestone. At the end of the harvest, the best bunches are subjected to a gentle pressing to extract the free-run must. The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16-17 °C. Before bottling, the wine matures in steel tanks for a few months on the fine lees with bâtonnage, in order to acquire greater richness and aromatic complexity.
The white Trebbiano Spoletino “Pometo” by Lungarotti is a wine that highlights the remarkable potential of the grape variety, in the sign of elegance and expressive finesse. In the glass, it presents a straw yellow color with subtle greenish reflections. Intense and rich, it expresses an aromatic profile that captivates with aromas of citrus, cedar peel, lime, nuances of medicinal herbs and aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean scrub, aromas of ripe yellow fruit, peach, apricot, pineapple, soft hints of tropical fruit.
