Callmewine's FavouritesThe Valtellina Superiore "Pietrisco" is an intense red wine with a beautiful structure, aged for 12 months in oak barrels. On the nose, it is pleasant, fresh, with chalky and mineral notes. On the palate, it is compact, intense, lively, elegant, full of sapidity, and well-balanced.
The Pietrisco of Boffalora combines the unparalleled finesse and structure of Nebbiolo with a clear and focused interpretation. One of the most convincing expressions from Valtellina, achieved also thanks to a non-intrusive approach that respects the vineyard and nature. The winery of Giuseppe Guglielmo is located in Andevenno, Sondrio, where in the three and a half hectares of vineyard, situated at about 350-700 meters above sea level, there are also century-old vines, some on their own roots. Extreme biodiversity and minimal vineyard treatments are just some of the principles adopted in the vineyard, which precede the conscientious work in the winery, where fermentations occur spontaneously and at uncontrolled temperatures. A great representation of Valtellina, to be enjoyed continuously given its particularly advantageous quality-price ratio!
