The Verdeca "Talò" from the Apulian winery San Marzano is a white wine that, with just one sip, recalls the summer and the warm Mediterranean atmospheres of Salento. The vineyards are located 100 meters above sea level on shallow soils, and the grapes, after a brief cold maceration, are aged for 3 months in French oak barrels. The glass is filled with a straw yellow mantle with golden reflections, and the nose is intoxicated by aromas of white flowers and vanilla. The taste is fresh, mineral, and savory with a pleasant length.

The Verdeca "Talò" from Cantine San Marzano is a white wine with a Mediterranean profile, made from the indigenous white grape variety characteristic of Salento. It is a very special version of Verdeca, which is vinified in wood to enrich and broaden its aromatic spectrum, thus giving the wine greater structure. The typical and immediate freshness of the grape variety is enveloped in a soft smoothness, making the sip more intense and velvety, complex and alluring. It is a perfect blend of Salento tradition and the culture of the whites from beyond the Alps.

“Talò” is a pure Verdeca offered by one of the most important production realities in Puglia. Cantine San Marzano is a cooperative that manages over 1500 hectares in the wonderful territory of Salento, with particular attention to the indigenous grape varieties of the area. The Verdeca grapes come from vineyards cultivated in the San Marzano area, at an altitude of about 100 meters above sea level, in an area with a warm and dry climate, mitigated by the

constant sea breezes, which surround the narrow Salento peninsula. The vines are planted in shallow soils, consisting of sands and clays, resting on substrates of limestone rock. The harvest takes place in the second half of August, and after a cold maceration of 6-8 hours, fermentation takes place in French oak barriques. Before bottling, the wine matures for 3 months in barriques on the lees with periodic bâtonnage.

The Verdeca "Talò" from Cantine San Marzano is the most typical and identity-defining white wine of the Apulian tradition, particularly suitable for pairing with dishes from the local cuisine. It pairs very well with seafood, raw fish appetizers, seafood salads, or generally with white-fleshed fish, prepared with light cooking methods. In the glass, it presents a pale and luminous straw yellow color. On the nose, it releases a delicate bouquet, with floral aromas, fragrant hints of citrus and white-fleshed fruit, green apple, cartucciaro melon, tabacchiera peach, and nuances of vanilla.
