VERMENTINO DI SARDEGNA 'IS ARGIOLAS' ARGIOLAS 2023 DESCRIPTION

'Is Argiolas' is a Vermentino di Sardegna, a faithful descriptor of its homeland. It is produced by Argiolas, a winery that has been in business for over 100 years, at the Tenuta di Serdiana. It is located in the municipality of the same name, in the province of Cagliari, where the Sardinian hinterland encapsulates all the essence of a territory, made up of colours and scents. In the embrace of this hilly amphitheatre looking towards the capital and its gulf lie the Argiolas vineyards, located at altitudes between 300 and 350 metres. Body and soul are dedicated to the valorisation of the traditional local vines, through cultivation choices and processing methods based on integrated agriculture. Environmental sustainability is of primary importance for this production reality, which has been proceeding in this direction for 20 years, constantly carrying out studies, research and experimentation.

Vermentino di Sardegna 'Is Argiolas' is influenced by the hilly breeze, the sun and the mild climate that characterise this part of Sardinia. The selection of grapes is precise and punctual, in order to obtain the best must that will first undergo cold decantation to become limpid, and then alcoholic fermentation conducted with only indigenous yeasts. The ageing phase is completed by a period of 40 to 60 days on the fine lees to enrich the wine with an inimitable personality.

Is Argiolas is a Sardinian Vermentino with an intense personality, clearly manifested in both nose and taste. It has a straw yellow colour, enlivened by some reflections that sometimes turn to greenish tones. Its aroma tells of yellow flowers and fruit, to which herbaceous and mineral notes provide a good counterpoint. The freshness and savouriness perceived in the mouth betray the white, chalky soils of origin and make it a very pleasant drinking wine. The consistent structure and good alcohol content make the Is Argiolas both fine and enveloping. A wine that can give interesting results even after a discreet wait. Its excellent value for money makes it a must-have with which to enrich one's personal cellar.

When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied white wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
