Vermentino di Gallura 'Primo' Piero Mancini 2021

The gold of Gallura: this is how we could define this Vermentino "Primo", a Sardinian white wine that touches the qualitative heights of the entire production of the Piero Mancini winery. Fresh, mineral and with a smooth drinkability, it is a bottle that reflects the imagery of what is expected from this vine, which in Sardinia, and more precisely in the terroir of Gallura, finds one of its natural habitats. But it doesn't end there, because Vermentino "Primo" also expresses a great territorial adherence, which in the glass is revealed thanks to evident hints reminiscent of the Mediterranean maquis.

The Piero Mancini winery makes this Vermentino di Gallura "Primo" from the white grape variety that most of all represents the beauty of the Sardinian territory, Vermentino. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest phase to ensure that only the best berries are chosen, vinify using the cryomaceration technique, fermenting in steel at a controlled temperature. After this stage they then move on to aging, which is carried out for several months in stainless steel containers. At the end of this period they then proceed to bottle the wine and sell it. 

"Primo" is a Vermentino di Gallura DOCG that shows a beautiful straw yellow color to the eye. The nose is a tribute to Sardinia, with notes of Mediterranean scrub that meet aromatic fruit and spice scents. The palate is slender-bodied, lively and flowing, with a savory sip endowed with a pleasant freshness; it ends with a finish characterized by a fruity aftertaste.
