The Vermentino from Uggiano is a Tuscan white wine from the Chianti area, aged for about 6 months in stainless steel tanks. It presents a delicate varietal sensory profile, with aromas of peaches, citrus, and aromatic herbs, and offers a savory, light, informal sip with citrus freshness.

The Vermentino from the Uggiano winery is born in the beautiful hilly area southwest of Florence, from vineyards cultivated on the slopes of Montespertoli, Montelupo Fiorentino, and San Casciano Val di Pesa, within a landscape of extraordinary beauty. The suitable soils and the mild, always breezy climate have proven ideal not only for red grape varieties but also for Vermentino, the classic grape of the Tuscan Coast, which particularly loves sunny exposures characterized by typically Mediterranean nuances.  Its harmonious, fragrant, and fruity profile offers a balanced and pleasant sip, fresh and intense.

The white Vermentino is the child of a great terroir. The Uggiano winery manages a wonderful estate of about 80 hectares, predominantly cultivated with red grape varieties: the indigenous Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Mammolo, Ciliegiolo, along with the classic Bordeaux varieties Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. In this area, Vermentino also expresses itself at excellent quality levels with wines that combine fruit maturity and freshness. At the end of the harvest operations, the best bunches, directly selected in the vineyard, are subjected to a cold maceration for about a dozen hours at a temperature of around 10 °C. We then proceed to the soft pressing of the grapes, and the free-run must is sent for fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a temperature of 18-22 °C. Before proceeding to bottling, the wine matures for a few months in steel tanks.

The Vermentino wine from the Tuscan winery Uggiano is a white that perfectly expresses the vocation to produce quality labels, with a typically territorial profile. In the glass, it presents a light straw yellow color with bright greenish reflections. It opens with an olfactory spectrum characterized by floral notes, of orange blossom and peach flowers, aromas of white-fleshed fruit, and hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub. Harmonious and intense, it conquers the palate with a rich and persistent fruit, which precedes a savory finish marked by a pleasant freshness. It is a perfect white to enjoy with fish menus, such as seafood appetizers, mollusks, and second courses of fish, or with delicate white meats. Excellent with a plate of spaghetti with clams.
