Vitagrama" from the Casa Caterina winery in Lombardy is a tasty and elegant red wine that is perfect for surprising friends with meat-based meals. Carefully hand-selected red grapes are used to make this label and only indigenous yeasts are used during vinification. The intense ruby red colour dresses the glass with a dark mantle while strong aromas of blackberry, flowers and spices inebriate the nose. The taste is soft, full-bodied, refined, harmonious and slightly savoury on the finish.

The ‘Vitagrama’ by Casa Caterina is a red wine with a fruity and spicy aromatic profile that makes complexity and expressive richness its standout virtues. The name of the winery was chosen to pay homage to the mother of Aurelio and Emilio Del Bono, brothers who, adopting a straightforward and artisanal production philosophy, lead this Lombard winemaking reality with the same passion passed down from their father Francesco, who still helps in the field today. The sincerely natural spirit is reflected in wines with a pure and uncontaminated character, capable of combining excellent quality and a sense of belonging. The label depicts two hands dirty with earth holding a ripe bunch of grapes, and the name of the bottle refers to the difficult peasant existence.

Casa Caterina ‘Vitagrama’ is made from a blend of different black grape varieties, grown on morainic soils following the principles of biodynamic agriculture. The grapes are hand-picked with careful selection and then vinified in red separately. The The alcoholic fermentation is carried out by only indigenous yeasts in wooden barrels, where the subsequent malolactic fermentation also takes place. During the entire winemaking process, the liquid undergoes no filtration.

In the glass, the ‘Vitagrama’ Casa Caterina expresses an intense ruby red color. The aromatic bouquet is broad and articulated, defined by aromas of blackberry, underbrush, black pepper, and star anise, enriched by balsamic puffs. Full, elegant sip with a great taste-olfactory correspondence, initially soft but soon met by a lively fresh-salty verve that lingers long with velvety tannins. A harmonious interpretation that impresses with its balance, capable of enhancing itself when paired with tasty preparations of red meats and game.
