Aberfeldy is a Southern Highland distillery located in the centre of Scotland on the banks of the River Tay. It was founded in 1896 by the prominent company John Dewar & Sons and has been the main production centre for the malt whiskies that form the basis of the famous Dewar's White Label ever since. Because of the high quality achieved and the fame gained among connoisseurs, the first stand-alone bottling, a Single Malt aged for 12 years, was launched on the market in 1999, followed by longer ageing.

The Aberfeldy distillery exploits the water of the Pitlie Burn stream, rich in minerals and gold deposits, which had already been used by an extinct distillery during the 19th century. In 1973, production was increased with the addition of two new stills, doubling the volumes. Old and traditional practices, introduced in 1896 by founders John and Tommy Dewar, are still used today, such as the very slow fermentation of wort in wooden vats. The wort for the production of Single Malt 12 Years, for example, ferments for 70 hours.

Aberfeldy whiskies are Single Malts that retain the intense and traditional soul of the Highlands. Their style is based on richness and intensity, recognisable by marked hints of honey, fruit and noble woods. This style has been appreciated by aficionados, recognising the most prized characters that for decades have been at the basis of the creation of famous blends and that can now be savoured in their full quality. The various official awards achieved have confirmed the excellence of the entire production, which has become part of the Olympus of great Highland Scotch labels.
