Adanti

Adanti represents a historic name of the wine-growing area of Montefalco, a family-run reality that has significantly contributed to the enhancement of the territory since the 1970s. The winery is located in Villa Arquata, an estate situated in the enchanting municipality of Bevagna, built on the ruins of the old convent of the Celestine friars, which in turn was built on Roman remains and late Renaissance structures. In this historically rich place, Domenico Adanti brought his winemaking project to life with the firm intention of producing high-quality labels, focusing on local traditional wines such as Sagrantino and Montefalco Rosso. Today, Daniela Adanti and her daughter Stella take care of the estate, embracing the same production philosophy as the founder Domenico. Additionally, alongside viticulture, the Adanti family is dedicated to producing delicious extra virgin olive oils from their 10 hectares of olive groves.

Regarding the winemaking aspect, the 30 hectares of vineyards owned by the Adanti winery are reserved for traditional varieties, traditional grapes such as Sagrantino, Sangiovese, and Grechetto, but also to allochthonous grapes like Barbera and international varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The rows, located at an altitude between 230 and 360 meters above sea level within the areas of Arquata and Colcimino, famous since antiquity for the quality of the wines and oils produced, are planted in clay and sandy soils rich in limestone. In a perspective of respect for the environment, the vineyards are managed according to the principles of organic farming and, moreover, the estate is energy self-sufficient thanks to the installation of photovoltaic panels. Pruning and harvesting operations are carried out strictly by hand, and in the cellar, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with prolonged skin maceration for reds, accompanied by periodic pump-overs and delestage. The subsequent aging period takes place in barrels of various sizes, such as barriques, tonneaux, and large Slavonian oak barrels.

From these premises takes shape in the production of the Umbrian winery Adanti, skilled in combining the most typical and traditional expressions with labels of a modern and international style, always seeking quality such as elegance and balance.
