Amuerte

The first and unique gin in the word produced from coca leaves
AddressKorenhof 14/BUS 1 3550 Heusden-Zolder

Amuerte is a gin brand founded in Belgium by two visionary and enterprising young cousins, descendants of families of master distillers for several generations. Their idea was to produce spirits using coca leaves as a botanical ingredient. These leaves come from the rainforest of Peru, where the Wiwa tribe still chews leaves as a medicine. Since the times of the Inca Empire, these leaves had a mystical and religious role and were also used to fight hunger and alleviate disease.

The founders of Amuerte Gin discovered coca leaves during a long journey around the world in search of the best botanical ingredients to use. During these travels, botanicals such as juniper, cardamom, coriander, Sichuan pepper, tamarillo, oranges, red pepper, papaya, South American dragon fruit, Peruvian physalis, i.e. alkekengi, and organic Italian finger lime, hand-picked in the Circeo Nature Park in Sabaudia, had already been selected. The unique combination of these highly aromatic and highly selected raw materials with the bitter Peruvian coca leaves, which lose their active ingredient during distillation, is the basis for the creation of a unique distillate.

Amuerte Gin is marketed in two different versions, obtained from different original recipes. The precious bottles containing the distillate were created by the two Latin American designers Havi Cruz and Adrian Domìnguez, are hand-designed and finished with genuine 24-carat gold foil. In addition to the coca leaves used in the production, the special feature of the distillate is an extraordinarily exotic and fruity flavour profile that is a must for every gin enthusiast.
