Ancilla
Ancilla is a family-run winery, led with great energy by Luisella Benedetti. We are located in Dossobuono di Villafranca, in the province of Verona, to tell a story entirely feminine, which begins with Ancilla, the grandmother of the current owner to whom the winery is dedicated. Ancilla was a woman of incredible strength, deeply involved in agriculture, who woke up every morning at three to set up the work for the next day in the fields. In the mid-70s, she bought two estates with vineyards, one in Lugana di Sirmione and the other in Villafranca di Verona, and her daughter Maria Teresa began to take care of the vineyards near Sirmione. After Ancilla's death, Maria Teresa became responsible for the entire production until the early 2000s, when she decided to pass the baton to Luisella, who was then working in the finance sector. At this point, the Hamletian doubt arose: sell the family lands or become a producer of Lugana? The answer, fortunately, is found within the bottles signed today by the Ancilla winery, products of
