Angel's Envy
Angel's Envy is a famous distillery located in Louisville, in the heart of Kentucky, the homeland of Bourbon Whisky. It is a typical New World spirit that combines the Scottish tradition of Whisky with the French culture of Cognac. Legend has it that Bourbon was born in New Orleans through the efforts of two French brothers in search of adventure, who moved to the United States from Cognac. The Tarascon brothers wanted to meet the demands of the French-descended population, accustomed to Cognac, who did not appreciate the dry and strong taste of Whisky. They thus tried to age Kentucky Whisky in heavily toasted oak barrels with a charred interior, in an attempt to give it a more mature and complex flavor. The result was astonishing, and the new product was particularly appreciated for its smoothness and intense spicy nuances.
We cannot say for certain if things happened exactly that way and if the new spirit truly took its name from Bourbon Street in New Orleans, but the fact is that a new rules of master distiller Lincoln Henderson. The range offers very interesting labels, made with aging in selected noble woods that give a special character to each Whisky: barrels previously used for aging Port, Rum, and the fortified wines of Jerez de la Frontera.
