Arrighi
The Arrighi Agricultural Company was founded over a hundred years ago on the hills overlooking the bay of Porto Azzurro, in the eastern part of the Island of Elba. Established in 1920 by the union of the Arrighi and Gavassa families, for much of the twentieth century, viticulture was a complementary activity to hospitality, primarily intended for the consumption of guests. With Antonio Arrighi, the third generation, wine stops being a side dish and becomes the beating heart of the family project. The vineyard area grows, the winery is structured, and a vision emerges that combines history, landscape, and Mediterranean culture. The turning point comes with the dialogue between archaeology and the present: the introduction of amphorae and especially the birth of “marine wines,” which ideally take us back 2500 years to the mythical wine of Chios.
Work in the vineyard and winery follows a philosophy of continuous research, now also accompanied by conversion to organic practices. The Arrighi winery is an open-air laboratory, where ancient tradition is reinterpreted with scientific rigor and contemporary sensitivity. Since 2010, the use of
