Distilleria Asahikawa
The Asahikawa distillery is located in Hokkaido Prefecture, the northernmost of the four islands that make up the Japanese archipelago. It is the least urbanized island and is also considered the center of Japanese agricultural production, particularly for rice production and fish trading. It hosts a very wild nature and a long complex of over sixty volcanoes (10% of those present in the world), which result in harsh winters, heavy snowfall, and are the destination for various activities, especially in the cold seasons. In spring and summer, however, the hills are colored with a rich variety of flowers (the purple ones due to lavender are famous), creating a truly unique scenic spectacle. Furthermore, in these fertile lands, among the high mountains and gentle hills, the ancient art of distillation is practiced, using the rich quantity of raw materials that the land offers.
Asahikawa distillery located near Sapporo, the capital of the prefecture, is famous for producing great spirits, such as Gin and Vodka. In particular, the Gin “Etsu” has conquered Japan and has found great success even outside national borders. It is crafted from a secret Asian recipe that involves infusion with Japanese botanicals, such as berries, juniper, flowers, tea, to which a local ingredient, Yazu, a Japanese citrus that resembles lemon, is added. Moreover, the distillery can also rely on the purest spring water from the Taisetsu mountains.
The Asahikawa Gin tells the Japanese spirit, the freshness and wild nature of Northern Japan. A distillate that faithfully brings all the scents of this land and the products that characterize it. Rich in personality and character, it is a perfect ingredient for modern mixology.
