Cascina La Barbatella is located in the Alto Monferrato, in Nizza Monferrato, and in its level land there is its four hectares vineyard in a soft hillside facing south and south-east, being crossed by rivers Belbo and Nizza. The territory was known in the nineteenth century for its vineyards and its fabulous scenery, so dear to Cesare Pavese and now a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. In such a culturally exciting context, excellent wines arise: the yields that the territory offers are very low, but the quality is extraordinary, as evidenced by the award-winning "Vigna dell'Angelo". The craftsmanship of the winemakers Giuliano Noè, Beppe Rattazzo and Claudio Dacasto led La Barbatella from the beginning of its production, in perfect harmony with the philosophy devoted to tradition and to innovation of Angelo Sonvico and, since 2010, of Perego family. The elegance, the craftsmanship and the passion behind La Barbatella embellish the personality of its wines: the farmhouse is sprouting and growing as small cuttings of its screws, which are rooted in the terroir of excellence and a history told by the Italian poets.
