Beaumont des Crayeres

Beaumont des Crayères is the name of a house founded in 1955 by a group of winemakers from the Mardeuil area, near Épernay, in the heart of Champagne. Today, this production reality includes about 250 vignerons, covering a total of 90 hectares and over 500,000 bottles per year, sold on all continents. The winning union of multiple suppliers allows for a wide selection of grapes from micro-terroirs and, therefore, the possibility to make the best selections for each label produced.

The secret to the success of Beaumont des Crayères Champagne lies in the union of several winemakers, united by the same goal. The vineyards are mostly located in the small municipality of Mardeuil, but also extend to nearby Épernay, as well as Damery, Cumières, Hautvillers, Dizy, Pierry, and Vinay. In respect of this great viticultural heritage, vineyard work is mostly manual, including the harvest, and has a low environmental impact. The grapes from the best parcels are selected each year to give life to the the most prestigious cuvées. In the cellar, separate micro-vinifications take place, using the most accurate technologies, allowing the chef de cave a wide range of base wines with which to compose, in the best possible way, the various cuvées. Fermentations take place in stainless steel tanks, with possible aging in barrique for some selections. The aging times on the lees in the bottle range from 2 to 4 years for brut sans année, exceed 5 years for vintage wines, and extend for 10 years for the “cuvée de prestige”.

The Beaumont des Crayères Champagne is the faithful portrait of a great productive territory, enhanced by the union of excellent winemakers. The attachment and affection of these winemakers for their territory is evident from the name: the term “crayères” indeed indicates the chalky composition of the soils of Champagne. Each label is the result of the complex and rigorous selection made each year by the chef de cave for the creation of the cuvées.The excellence of these blends is guaranteed by the vast selection of different grapes from various micro-terroirs, made even more varied by the choice to resort to micro-vinifications. The contributions of individual winemakers thus integrate into the whole of a wonderful mosaic.
