Blurry Moon
Blurry Moon is a French Gin produced by the distillery Maison Gimet, located in Occitania, west of the city of Toulouse. The idea of producing an original version of the famous distillate from Northern Europe was born from the desire to macerate botanicals and essential oils to create a very aromatic and rich Gin, inspired by the experience gained through the production of Armagnac Gimet and Lactalium Velvet blends. The distillate fits perfectly into the nouvelle vague, which especially in the last decade has seen numerous new protagonists eager to propose artisanal Gin versions capable of highlighting a typically territorial matrix, far from the anonymous standardization of much of the industrial production.
The production process begins with a careful selection of raw materials, chosen with the intent to create a blend that, starting from the classic model of London Dry Gin, would stand out for a character of uniqueness and particularity. Among the botanicals used,we recall the essential juniper berries, coriander, lemongrass, cinchona, and other herbs and plants, all derived from organic farming. According to the oldest traditions, the botanicals are steeped for a long time in a copper still in a base of 60% vol. grain alcohol. Then, the still is ignited, and the distillation process begins, with the heads and tails being cut off to preserve only the heart of the distillation.
The Gin that comes out of the still, characterized by intense fragrances and rich aromas, has an alcohol content of 75% vol., which is then lowered to 42% vol. with the addition of pure and light water. The Gin is then bottled in an original spherical transparent glass bottle, sealed with black wax, which enhances the packaging with a precious vintage touch. Blurry Moon Gin stands out for its extraordinary purity and expressive finesse, with delicate and fragrant aromas reminiscent of ripe lemon peel and maritime pine resin. On the palate, it is characterized by mint aromas.peppermint, pepper, citrus, iodized and marine nuances, on a balsamic background of juniper berries.
