Bodegas Gratias

Bodegas Gratias is an interesting reality of Spanish wine located in Casas Ibáñez, in the hilly area of the inland Valencia, about a hundred kilometers from the Mediterranean coast. The area has been famous for centuries for producing high-quality wines, thanks to particularly favorable pedoclimatic conditions for viticulture. The warm and dry climate is, in fact, mitigated by the constant presence of sea breezes, which soften the hottest temperatures, favoring gradual and optimal ripening of the grapes. The estate's vineyards rise up to 400 meters in altitude and can enjoy good temperature excursions between day and night, essential for fixing intense and elegant aromas and scents.

The history of Bodegas Gratias began in 2007 almost as a game. A group of friends, enologists, and sommeliers gathered at the estate of one of their grandfathers, in the area of Cerro de los Moñigos, and decided to try vinifying the grapes to make a couple of barrels of wine to drink together in pure convivial spirit.friendly. However, the result of their craftsmanship immediately proved to be of excellent quality, and after a year they decided to embark on this new adventure by producing their first wine under the Gratias Maxima label. The name was born from the desire to thank nature, the grandfather's vineyard, and the mutual help of friends engaged together in a single project, and it has become a word that accompanied the initiative, to the point of becoming the name of the winery. Initially, the vinifications and aging took place in a garage of one of the partners. Only in 2015 was a dedicated structure created, which is still the home of the winery today.

The philosophy of the company is very simple and can be summarized in the absolute centrality of the vineyard, as a prerequisite for the entire subsequent production process, which is considered as a work of accompanying the grape to transform into wine with minimal enological intervention. The processes are artisanal, conducted with passion and competence, with the sole objective of trying to enhance the terroir. Just to give voice to the most authentic and traditional face of the region, Bodegas Gratias has decided to cultivate only indigenous varieties, some of which are very rare or almost extinct, including: Bobal, Tardana, Pintaillo or Pintailla, Marisancho, Teta de vaca, Pedro Juan, Moravia agria, Moravia dulce, Cegivera, Rojal, Valencín, Albillo.
