At the foot of Castiglione Falletto, one of the most renowned and appreciated communes for the production of Barolo, lies the Brovia winery, for more than 150 years a faithful interpreter of the territory and the creator of elegant expressions at the top of the appellation. It was Giacinto Brovia, in 1863, who founded the estate and from that moment on, the various generations of the family have succeeded one another, handing down knowledge of the area and the art of the trade. The only interruption in the activity dates back to the 1930s and 1940s, when partly the crisis due to phylloxera and wars and partly the early death of Antonio, Giacinto's son, halted production until 1953, when Antonio's sons resumed making wines of the highest quality. Today, the winery is run by the fourth wine generation of the Brovia family, represented by Elena, with the support of her Spanish husband Alex Sanchez.
The Brovia winery consists of 15 hectares of vineyards located mostly within the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, with plots also in Serralunga d'Alba. Although the soil composition varies greatly from plot to plot, the soils are predominantly clay and limestone, with more sandy veins in Castiglione Falletto than in Serralunga d'Alba. The varieties grown on the estate include the indigenous Barbera and Dolcetto, as well as, obviously, his majesty Nebbiolo. The agronomic management follows the principles of certified organic farming, while the production philosophy is traditionalist, with fermentation in cement, long maceration on the skins and prolonged ageing in large oak casks. The Barolos are basically processed through the same production process, in order to bring out the unique character of each vineyard.
Brovia's Barolos stand out for their irresistible charm and refined style, configuring themselves as faithful expressions of the prestigious vineyards of origin, whether it be the MGAs of Villero, Rocche di Castiglione and Garblèt Sue', located in Castiglione Falletto, or the only Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva of Serralunga d'Alba: Brea.

"Impegno rigoroso, serietà e una presenza nel mondo del vino sempre sotto traccia: queste sono le cifre professionali di una realtà che è un vero e proprio gioiello delle Langhe da decenni a questa parte"
