Casaleta
Casaleta is a winery from the Marche region located in the beautiful and renowned area of the Castelli di Jesi. A hilly territory particularly suited for viticulture, thanks to very favorable climatic conditions. The area enjoys a mediterranean, warm, and sunny climate, always mitigated by the presence of gentle breezes that rise from the inland towards the Adriatic Sea coast. The soils are draining, composed mainly of sands mixed with clays. Alongside the gifts of a generous nature, the experience of a family that has cultivated these lands for generations adds to the value. The real turning point occurs in the early '90s when the company decides to fully dedicate itself to viticulture, creating the Casaleta winery with the intent to enhance the Verdicchio, an indigenous grape variety of the area with remarkable oenological potential.
Castelli di Jesi, with vines that are over 70 years old, a true memory of the region's viticulture. The fallanze and new rows have been created from a mass selection of the old vines, in order to preserve the ancient taste of Verdicchio and maintain the identity and original biodiversity of the vineyard. The old plants produce little, but yield grapes of excellent quality with particularly intense and rich aromas.
The estate is located in a magnificent valley, between the hills of Castiglioni di Arcevia, at an altitude of about 350 meters above sea level, with a north-northeast exposure. The proximity to the first reliefs of the Marche Apennines, characterized by the presence of large wooded areas, allows for significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, essential for slow and gradual ripening, leading to the production of aromatically rich clusters. The vineyards extend over a total area of about 6 hectares, almost all dedicated to the cultivation of Verdicchio, apart from a small presence of red grape varieties, such as
