Casalfarneto is a winery in the Marche region that was founded in 1995 by Danilo Sollustri, who has always been the agronomist and soul of the winery. It all began with an old, abandoned farmhouse, surrounded by oak trees, which only succeeded in becoming what it is today, thanks to the entrepreneurial spirit of the Togni family in 2005. A winery with an avant-garde and modern style, completely buried in the hillside and equipped with the most innovative technologies aimed at saving energy and achieving an increasingly functional and meticulous production.

The Casalfarneto winery was born among the gentle, sinuous hills of the exposed, sunny side of Serra de' Conti. It is located in the heart of the Marche countryside, precisely in the province of Ancona, where the Valmisia meets the Vallesina, an area with an ancient reputation for the Verdicchio grape. In this middle ground, halfway between the sea and the Apennines, the estate's 35 hectares of vineyards are spread out at an altitude of around 320 metres on medium-textured, sandy soils. Technological innovation has also made its home among the vines, where a small weather station provides valuable data in real time to help plan interventions in the most detailed and efficient manner.

The objective that the Casalfarneto winery has always pursued is to enhance the value of Verdicchio, not only as an indigenous and territorial variety, but also as a white wine with great ageing potential, capable of competing with the best white wine labels inside and outside of Italy. The fulfilment of this aim has been possible primarily thanks to a meticulous study in the vineyard of the different phases of the harvest; an early harvest will allow for the enhancement of fresher and more agile characteristics, while overripe grapes, in some cases influenced by noble mold, will give rise to fuller and softer whites. This demonstrates the different roles that Verdicchio can play, in order to meet the tastes of an increasingly diverse range of connoisseurs, without ever betraying its most representative organoleptic profile. A historic passion for nature and a visionary approach to the future: these are the ingredients that have built Casalfarneto's success, allowing it to receive major recognition from the best Italian wine guides in a short space of time
