Castello d'Albola is not only an incomparable place for its ancient and noble history, neither is only the site of an ancient cultural and monumental heritage, nor only remains in the heart for its green and endless landscapes... Castello d'Albola is the story a fascinating terroir, cradle of unparalleled Chianti. Situated on the rolling hills of Chianti, the castle is located in Radda, near Siena, boasting a long history behind it, having origins in the Middle Ages. Having being owned over the centuries by the main noble families of Italy, the estate has evolved into a Renaissance villa dominated by two medieval towers: lying for 900 acres of land, 150 are dedicated to the vine, in small and precious vineyards over 550 meters high.
In the 18th century the wine cultivation and culture have been introduced at the castle steep and rocky lands, which led Pian d'Albola to become a landmark of the Chianti.
In 1979 the estate has being owned by Zonin family, who has made it an invaluable safeguard quality, perfectly expressing the beauty of the places and exalting the goodness of wines; Chianti Classico resumes the ancient winemaking tradition born from ancient native vines; "The Solatio" transmits its unique steep terroir, which faces at the South-East and is crossed by the heat of the sun. Minerality and flavor take shape in elegant wines, born from an extraordinary artistic wealth.
