Château Mouton Rothschild

Entering the white avenue crowned by the enormous obelisk with its golden star-shaped tip, we step lightly and with reverent gaze into Château Mouton Rothschild, an estate with a centuries-old history that stands on the left bank of Bordeaux. It is 1853 when Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild participates in an auction and acquires Château Brane-Mouton, the estate in the heart of Médoc that he renames after himself: Château Mouton Rothschild. Only in 1924, thanks to the intervention of Baron Philippe de Rothschild, the magic happens: the great-grandson of Baron Nathaniel takes the estate's destiny into his hands and, with commendable innovation and entrepreneurship, the estate finally sees the magical meeting of a territory with great resources and the great passion of a man. With the expansion and modernization of the spaces and a new strategy for marketing and distributing the wines, Château Mouton Rothschild – with its labels created by the most celebrated artists of their time - soon becomes a permanent reference in the international

wine scene.international enological.

Characterized by a gravelly soil mixed with sand and clay, whose topography is characterized by small hills less than 40 m high and favored by a temperate oceanic climate, at Château Mouton Rothschild - with 90 hectares of vineyards under the Paudillac designation - the most prestigious wines in the world are produced, distinguished by their elegance, power, and longevity. Following practices and secrets passed down from generation to generation, Mouton Rothschild cultivates the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. The harvest and the rigorous selection of the grapes are done by hand, which undergo a fermentation process in oak and stainless steel vats fed by gravity at 100%. As per the tradition of the Bordeaux region, the aging of the wines takes place in new oak barrels for almost 2 years.

Château Mouton Rothschild – now under the guidance of Philippe Sereys de Rothschild, Camille Ogren, and Julien de Beaumarchais – continues to produce wines that look to the future telling a centuries-old story.of experience, art, and magic.
