Chorlton Whisky
Chorlton Whisky represents the project of an independent bottler by David Bennet, dedicated to bottling natural strength whisky from single cask and other selected distillates. We are in Manchester, in Northern England, where David founded Chorlton Whisky in 2016 driven by his love for distillates, whisky in particular, after spending several years organizing events and tastings related to this fascinating world. The foundation of the brand is the careful search for the best barrels at competitive prices, which leads David to bottle the casks without predefined schemes, solely following his refined instinct.
In his activity as an independent bottler, specialized in Scottish whisky, David Bennet of Chorlton Whisky collaborates with renowned distilleries in Scotland including Miltonduff, in Speyside, Caol Ila, in the Islay region, and Glen Ord, in the Highlands. The selected distillates have been aged for long periods, even exceeding 20 years, in various types of barrels, such as those previously used for the maturation of bourbon or sherry. Bottling always occurs at natural alcohol strength, without any dilution, and during the processing no cold filtration is performed and no coloring agents are added. The single casks are produced in very limited series, rarely exceeding 300-400 bottles.
The distillates of the English brand Chorlton Whisky reflect all the passion and commitment of David Bennet, with an almost exclusive focus on complex and deep scotch whisky. The bottles are labeled with beautiful illustrations in medieval and Renaissance style, the first taken from “Il Libro dei Miracoli”, a sixteenth-century work by the German author Till-Holger Borchert, the latter from “Tacuinum Sanitatis”, a series of medical science manuals dating back to the 14th and 15th centuries. Furthermore, all the packaging used for shipping is recyclable.
